On-land: Pure Salmon facilities will span three continents

Pure Salmon is spearheading on-land salmon growing projects in Poland, France, Italy, Japan, China, and the United States.

The next farm in Tazewell, Virginia is expected to tbe Pure Salmon’s largest facility to date. U.S.  government agencies provided US$20 million in financial assistance to start the project.

Pure Salmon is also considering building a center in Boulogne-sur-Mer, France and a second in Olbia, Italy.

8F Asset Management Pte., an asset management firm that manages a private capital aquaculture fund, created Pure Salmon in October 2018 to run their RAS (recirculating aquaculture system) projects. The firm’s new initiative is called “Soul of Japan” which will harvest 10,000 tonnes of salmon per year to sell to the growing Japanese market for sushi and sashimi.

Stephane Farouze, President of 8F, confirmed the firm will construct five plants with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes in China.

In the near future, Pure Salmon will be producing 260,000 tonnes of salmon on land in three continents.
