Animal nutrition: SAG authorizes sales of insect-based products
Natpro, a pioneer in the Latin American insect feed industry, officially obtained authorization from the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) to sell animal nutrition products generated at their plant in Pargua, Los Lagos Region.
The company transforms un-used organic material into feed, contributing to the circular economy.
Insects are being used now more than ever as a protein source because they are highly efficient and have a low-carbon footprint. Natpro takes aquaculture and agriculture outputs and, through the black solider fly (Hermetia illucens), transforms them into high-quality nutrients.
