Jack mackerel is Chile’s chief fishing resource. After going through a serious crisis in the ‘90s, the fishing authorities and industrials have continued implementing actions to ensure the species’ preservation.

The creation of a South Pacific ORP and world class research seem to be two solutions to achieve this.
