Francisco Ariztía R., Farm COO Cermaq ASA: Mainstreams’ admiral
Although Francisco Ariztía confesses that salmon is not one of his favorite dishes and that he seldom eats it, that information is misleading. He has a passion for salmons and all salmon-related activities, which has kept him busy over the past 20 years.
Ariztía is one of the best known executives inside and outside the industry. His long involvement in the industry has permitted him to be a privileged witness of the rise, development and consolidation of aquaculture—an activity that is currently one of the most important ones of the Chilean economy. Also, his knowledge and experience have made it possible for him to reach one of the highest ranks worldwide, thanks to his current position as Farm COO of Cermaq ASA, a Norwegian holding, where Ariztía also is a member of the steering committee. The holding owns Mainstream in Chile, Canada and Scotland, and EWOS in the same countries besides Norway.
