Rodrigo Sarquis, the representative of the most important fishing association in the country, considers that the industry’s unity has been a key element to face the difficult situations that have cropped up. This has permitted positioning the sector as the third most important player of the Chilean economy.

Sarquis holds that efforts are focused on returning the industry in the shortest time possible to normal operations after the earthquake and tsunami of February this year. To achieve this, he states that, “it is essential to establish a safe and viable environment for the sector.”
