Developmental Trends and Diversification in European Aquaculture – New species or new products ? Are these alternatives in aquaculture development?

The AQUA CULTURE FORUM BREMERHAVEN takes place in spring and autumn of 2012 and 2013, respectively. Up to 150 international participants from science, economy and administration are expected to attend each workshop. The forum therefore networks comprehensive scientific competence with economic know-how and takes into account the necessary national and international legal requirements.

The content of the AQUA CULTURE FORUM BREMERHAVEN is prepared by and updated through a high-profilely scientific programme committee lead by Prof. Dr. Harald Rosenthal. The worldwide renowned fishing biologist and marine researcher is supported by Dr. Uwe Brämick, director of the Institute of Inland Fisheries, Prof. Dr. Bela H. Buck, Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Prof. Dr. Ulfert Focken, vTI, Prof. Dr. Maria Koch, Deutsche See GmbH, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Saint-Paul, ZMT, Annette Schimmel, BIS Bremerhaven Economic Development Company Ltd., Prof. Dr. Carsten Schulz, GMA Society, Prof. Uwe Waller, HTW University of Applied Sciences Saarland, Dr. Bert Wecker, University of Rostock, Dr. Helmut Wedekind, Director Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft, and Dr. Sven Würtz, IGB Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries.

With the AQUA CULTURE FORUM BREMERHAVEN 2012-2013 these experts jointly developed a series of workshops which focuses on future-oriented key issues concerning chances and risks of aquaculture development.
