PatoGen establishing international presence in key markets
Coming from the position as leader of preventive fish health services in Norway, PatoGen now steps up international focus.
Recently, PatoGen established an office in Oban, Scotland, managed by Teresa Garzon and an office in Puerto Varas, Chile, managed by Ragnhild Bleken Rud. The local presence will make it possible for PatoGen to work more closely with fish farming companies in the two regions.
Where salmon are farmed PatoGen wants to be present, states CEO in PatoGen, Jørn Ulheim. «To have a knowledge-based company like PatoGen ensuring the transfer of relevant information and services between different international production regions will increase the overall fish health. In PatoGen we observe that fish farming companies investing into preventive fish health also experience overall better performance and reduced biological losses», says Ulheim.
The new PatoGen units in Scotland and Chile will consecutively introduce the various PatoGen knowledge-based products and services.

Recientemente, PatoGen estableció una oficina en Oban, Escocia, administrada por Teresa Garzón, y otra oficina en Puerto Varas, Chile, administrada por Ragnhild Bleken Rud. De acuerdo con la compañía, la presencia local permitirá trabajar más estrechamente con las productoras de salmónidos en ambos países.
«Donde se cultivan salmones, queremos estar presentes», enfatizó el director ejecutivo (CEO, por su sigla en inglés) de PatoGen, Jørn Ulheim, para quien «tener una empresa basada en el conocimiento como PatoGen que garantice la transferencia de información y servicios relevantes entre las diferentes regiones internacionales de producción aumentará la salud general de los peces». Y añadió: «en PatoGen observamos que las compañías de acuicultura que invierten en la salud preventiva de los peces también experimentan un mejor desempeño general y reducen las pérdidas biológicas».
Es así como las nuevas unidades de Escocia y Chile presentarán consecutivamente productos y servicios basados en la investigación, desarrollo e innovación (I+D+i) generada por los científicos de PatoGen.
